Why My Birthday This Year Was A Big Deal For Me!

I turned a year older on Monday the 11th of January and for the first time in many years, I was very happy on that day. Was it because I got an extra special gift? No, was it because I had a party? No, was it because something special happened? Not exactly, but simply because God had mercy on me and kept me alive and well to see that day.

Another major reason was the huge appreciation I received from left, right and center with lots of congratulatory messages and words of appreciation from people I didn't even know especially listeners of my various shows on radio via different social media platforms.

Messages from my friends was another matter entirely and I was practically in tears of joy the whole day! One of them even called me "humility personified" and that totally broke me because boy was I an arrogant woman many years ago when I felt like life was determined by what you were worth and at that time I felt like a "gbogbo bigs gal" ...Lol! but when reality crept in and I lost all I had, I came to realise that actually impacting and adding value to lives has nothing to do with your pocket but more with your heart, character and actions. This led me to start praying to God to humble me and he definitely did for which I am now eternally grateful.

What especially gladdened my heart was the way most of them said I had inspired them in one way or the other and made them appreciate and love God more! This for me was the highlight of my day. Despite some negative stuff I have gone through in life, one thing that has remained constant for me has been the Grace and Mercy of God and I have NEVER been ashamed to make it known to the whole world that God is indeed real and a rewarder of those that diligently seek Him.

Does seeking God mean life will be rosy for you? Not exactly but He has promised us that despite these tribulations, we should be of good cheer because He has overcome the world and that is a reassurance for us.

I am using this opportunity to say a big THANK YOU again to all those that reached out to me in one way or the other especially the crew of Foreststream Entertainment who went out of their way to give me a surprise cake and drinks while Wale Sax, serenaded me with music...Lol!

In all it was really a day that I won't forget in a long time and I want to encourage us to ALWAYS put God first in EVERYTHING we do because HE is so mindful of us and will never put us to shame!
